In 1968, the Uniform Holiday Bill was enacted, changing Veterans Day from the annual scheduled date to the fourth Monday in October. If November 11 falls on a Sunday, it will be moved to the following Monday. If, on the other hand, it falls on a Saturday, the public holiday can take place on the first Friday or remain on Saturday.
